Features

  • Entry-level DC charger. The ABB DC Wall Box 24 is a compact 24kW DC entry-level charger with one or two charging plugs.

  • Ultra-compact footprint. The size of this DC wall box enables flexibility in installation to serve a variety of site conditions. This charge station can be wall-mounted or installed on a pedestal.

  • Inverts AC power to DC. The ABB Wall Box can be connected to a dedicated 3-phase AC board, making this ideal for 3-phase sites with finite levels of power capacity. This system delivers power directly to the car’s battery by inverting the AC power to DC within the wall box. This provides faster energy than the car charging from AC power.

  • Rapid charging for all cars. When charging with AC equipment, charging power is often limited by the onboard converter of the EV. Onboard converters are usually rated 3 to 7 kW. Any additional power the AC charging station could provide remains unused. With the DC Wall Box, 24 kW peak DC power is provided directly to the battery, bypassing the limitations of the EV’s onboard converter.

  • User access. Users can access the charge station using RFID cards or the Thundergrid app depending on how the unit is networked.

  • Communicating via OCPP, the ABB DC Wall Box can be managed and controlled remotely, allowing features such as user identification and linking to the Thundergrid billing platform.

  • Dual charging output (CHAdeMO & CCS2), only one is available to be used at a time.

  • User friendly. The 7’’ full-colour, daylight readable touch screen helps users start and stop charge sessions, track charging progress, and access help menus, language selection, and PIN code access. Easy-reach cables for convenient parking and charging.

  • Load management. Able to support dynamic load management. Ready for integration with advanced smart building energy systems.
