Thundergrid receives boost for projects under LETF

We’re ecstatic to share that several of our projects have received funding from the Government’s new-look Low Emission Transport Fund (LETF). This fund, administered by EECA, supports the demonstration and adoption of low emission transport technology, innovation and infrastructure to accelerate the decarbonisation of the New Zealand transport sector.

Thanks to this funding, Thundergrid have extended the capability of our super savvy Etrel chargers to any third party DC or AC chargers with a universal controller, allowing clients to avoid expensive transformer and power infrastructure upgrades. Not only that, but we’ve also been able to install a dynamic load charger at Moore Wilson’s in Masterton, meaning shoppers can charge their EVs while collecting their groceries!

This fund and the projects it enables is fantastic progress towards reducing our transport emissions in New Zealand. We love to see change like this happening in New Zealand and even more so, knowing that we are a part of it.
